I am qualified in and provide various types of massage as part of treatment plans such as Swedish, Sports, Deep Tissue & Stone Therapy as well as TCM’s traditional form of massage that has been practised for over 5000 years: Tui Na.
It’s all about balance!
Just like Western Massage, Tui Na works the muscles helping them to relax, removing stagnation and allowing the blood to flow more freely throughout the area, giving the muscle the optimum chance of repairing itself. This is done by kneading, rubbing, tapping and pressing on various body locations. The rhythmic compression works to create a harmonious flow throughout the body and remove blockages.
Tui Na also incorporates the action of pressing on certain acupressure points in the body’s meridian system to stimulate the body’s own healing process to restore the balance of Chi.
Aside from easing pain in the limbs and joints, massage can also help to alleviate stress-related conditions, like insomnia, premenstrual syndrome, and digestive issues.
